The Body Method: what to expect from wood therapy
What wood therapy is, the difference between a sculpt and a lymphatic treatment, how it feels and how to get the most from it.

Alongside nails and lashes, I offer body treatments under the name The Body Method. They use wood therapy, which surprises a few people when they first see the tools. This is what to expect.
What wood therapy is
Wood therapy is a hands-on massage technique that uses shaped wooden tools: rollers, cups and paddles, each made to fit a different part of the body. They are worked over the skin in firm, rhythmic strokes with oil, so they glide.
It is non-invasive, with no needles and no machines, and there is no downtime. You can go straight back to your day afterwards.
Sculpt or lymphatic?
Sculpt
A sculpt treatment uses firmer pressure and works on shaping and smoothing areas such as the stomach, waist, thighs and bottom. The aim is a smoother, more toned look to the skin. The Full Body Method Sculpt takes around two and a quarter hours, and the 360° Midsection Sculpt focuses on the waist and abdomen in about an hour and a quarter.
Lymphatic
A lymphatic treatment is lighter and slower. It follows the direction of your lymphatic system to encourage fluid to move, which many people find helps with puffiness and that heavy, bloated feeling. The Full Body Method Lymphatic takes about an hour and three quarters.
Not sure which to choose? Tell me what you are hoping for when you book, or send me a message first.
How it feels
Sculpt is firm, and some areas can feel quite intense, a bit like a deep tissue massage. I check in with you throughout and adjust the pressure. Lymphatic work is much gentler, and most people find it very relaxing.
Getting the most from it
- Drink plenty of water on the day of your treatment and the day after.
- A course of treatments a week or two apart gives better results than a one-off.
- Gentle movement, like a walk, afterwards helps.
- Tell me when you book if you are pregnant, have a medical condition, or have had recent surgery. Some treatments are not suitable, or need your doctor's go-ahead first.
Being realistic
Wood therapy is a lovely, hands-on treatment that can leave you feeling lighter and your skin looking smoother. It is not a replacement for medical treatment or a weight-loss programme, and results vary from person to person.
The prices for each treatment are on the price list.
